The art of mindful creation,
honoring tradition and
embracing the moment.

Welcome! Hanato Atelier is a space for thoughtful making — where hands move with care, traditions are honored, and creativity becomes a shared ritual.

We invite inspiring artists and makers with diverse cultural backgrounds to lead seasonal workshops. Each session is carefully curated to offer more than technique — to open a moment of stillness, discovery, and cultural connection.

Rooted in traditional arts yet open to contemporary approaches, we explore practices such as Sumi-e (East Asian ink painting), Wa-toji (Japanese bookbinding), Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) and Rattan weaving. At the heart of it all is the hand — shaping, sensing, remembering.

Workshops are held in a welcoming studio inside Het Badhuis, a historic building in Haarlem, where community, nature, and creativity meet.

Let’s make, connect, and reflect — together.

Warmest wishes,
Soonhwa, Studio Soona
