Experimental Ink – Mass and Lines

Today we created many square shapes using flat brushes, working with wet and dry ink, and with tones from light grey to deep black. We then combined these with lines.

With the mass of squares and lines, what kind of tension can be created?

We also worked with two themes: Wind and Breath. I saw many interesting compositions and subtle feelings emerging from the works.

What happens if you create Wind or Breath using only squares and lines?
What kind of wind are you making, and why?
When are you conscious of your breath? Is it calm or rough?

I believe these kinds of questions are very important companions on a painting journey.

See you again soon.
